The types of classes we offer are as follows for the 2023/2024 season:

Tap (Ages 4 and up)
Tap is a form of dance where dancers use their feet as percussive instruments. The sound is made by tap shoes which have a metal plate, “taps”, on the heel and toe. Tap is great for fostering rhythm in dancers and is offered at a very young age to encourage that rhythm.
Tap shoes required for this class.
Dance Attire:
No sweatpants.Bodysuit with leggings or tight legged workout shorts, can also wear a dance skirt or a dance wrap sweater; hair off face in a pony, braids or a bun.

Jazz (Ages 4 and up)
Usually set to upbeat popular music, jazz is an expressive style that incorporates a lot of leaps, turns and quick movements.
Jazz shoes required for this class.
Dance Attire:
No sweatpants.Bodysuit with leggings or tight legged workout shorts, little ones can also wear a dance skirt black jazz shoes; hair off face in a pony, braids or a bun.

Ballet (Ages 3 and up)
Ballet is a poised style of dance that is the core to all types of dance. It is a complex mixture of technique, coordination and musicality.
Ballet shoes required for this class.
Dance Attire:
Bodysuit and ballet pink tights, can also wear a ballet skirt or a dance wrap sweater, and pink ballet shoes; hair in a bun.

Contemporary Ballet (Ages 11 and up)
The same technique and class structure as ballet, set to contemporary music. Contemporary Ballet is ideal for kids who want to strengthen their technique without the classical ballet feel.
Dance Attire:
Bodysuit and long leggings ballet shoes; hair in a pony, braids or a bun.

Acro (Ages 6 and up)
The performance of extraordinary human feats of balance, agility, and motor coordination mixed with dance elements. A type of “controlled” gymnastics minus all the apparatus, Acro focuses on building strength and flexibility. Examples of tricks would be cartwheels, bridges, walkovers and splits.
Bare feet only for this class.
Dance Attire:
Bodysuit with leggings or tight legged workout shorts bare feet; hair off face in a pony, braids or a bun.

Lyrical (Ages 11 and up, must also be registered in Ballet, Contemporary Ballet or Jazz)
Lyrical focuses on conveying the feelings and emotion of the music and lyrics through movement. Lyrical builds on a strong foundation of ballet and jazz technique and our students are required to also be registered in either a ballet or jazz class in order to take lyrical.
Half sole shoes or foot undeez required for this class.
Dance Attire:
No sweatpants.Bodysuit with leggings or tight legged workout shorts. half-sole shoes or foot undies; hair off face in a pony, braids or a bun

*New* Contemporary/Lyrical (Beginners Only) (Ages 10 and up)
This class will give your beginner dancer the opportunity to experience half a class of Contemporary Ballet and the other half with Lyrical.
Dance Attire:
No sweatpants.Bodysuit with leggings or tight legged workout shorts. half-sole shoes or foot undies; hair off face in a pony, braids or a bun

Hip Hop (Ages 5 and up)
Hip hop is an urban style of dance that is high energy and upbeat. Usually set to popular rap, hip hop and urban music, hip hop is becoming more and more popular in today’s dance world. Kids enjoy the fast paced energetic style of this class.
Clean running shoes required for this class.
Dance Attire:
Loose clothing, clean runners, hair off face in pony-tail, braids or bun (No jeans, dresses, half-tops, or jackets).

Musical Theatre (Ages 8 and up)
Singing, dancing and acting are all incorporated into this class while the kids perform dances and songs from Broadway musicals. A great class to help gain confidence in performing and expression.
Jazz shoes required for this class.
Dance Attire:
Bodysuit with leggings or tight legged workout shorts black jazz shoes; hair off face in a pony, braids or a bun.

Silks (Ages 8 and up)
Aerial Silks is a type of performance in which dancers perform aerial acrobatics while hanging from a fabric. We are also including working with juggling
Bare feet only for this class.
Dance Attire:
Long or short sleeve bodysuit, and leggings. (No T-shirts. No bodysuits WITH zippers. No shorts). Hair in a bun (No bangs).
Boys: Tight fitting shirt, short or long sleeve tucked into sweatpants.

Pointe (Ages 12 and up, must have extensive experience in Ballet and be currently registered in Ballet)
Pointe is an extension of ballet in which the dancers dance up on the tips of their toes on special “pointe” shoes. Dancers must also be registered in ballet in order to take Pointe.
Dance Attire
Bodysuit and ballet pink tights, can also wear a ballet skirt or a dance wrap sweater, and pink ballet shoes; hair in a bun.

Boys (all classes except Hip Hop):
white t-shirt and black leggings, sweat or track pants or long shorts.
